school

My son asked me if I had once also been five years old, like him.

“Yes, a long time ago!” I told him.

“And did you go to the same class in school that I am in?” he asked.

“No. I went to primary school in England,” I said.

“Oh! That’s a long way to drive,” he exclaimed, looking surprised.

I’m not sure at what age he will actually grasp what it means that his mother isn’t Dutch and has lived most of her life in England so far.….

Being a British mother with Dutch children can certainly be amusing. And confusing!
